Discover the personal stories behind the politics of early California. The Vallejo family didn't just witness the shift from Mexican to American rule, they shaped it.

Award-winning authors Rose Marie Beebe and Robert Senkewicz invite you to explore the world of Mariano G. Vallejo through their groundbreaking book, Write Long and Beautiful Letters.

Program Highlights:

  • Insights from the authors' extensive study of the Vallejo lineage.
  • A deep dive into 180+ letters written between 1846 and 1888.
  • An intimate look at how Californios navigated the dramatic struggle for identity and survival.

Presented in collaboration with the Benicia Public Library in the Doña Benicia Meeting Room. The authors will have books available for sale and signing after their presentation.
