For the first time, television revealed the horrors of war on the evening news, igniting nation-wide anti-war protests. This scene emphasizes the military’s rising reliance on B-52 Bombers and HU-1 helicopters. It shows the silhouette of soldiers patrolling the delta in a boat and documents the injury of noncombatants. This mural depicts how Americans demonstrated to both end the war and honor our soldiers. After more than a hundred years of service, the Benicia Arsenal closed on March 30, 1964. The Arsenal was deemed too small and too close to a city for modern missile storage.
